Shooting a one-take video is always challenging, as there’s no easy way to hide mistakes or cut corners. It was especially important to make sure that the choreography of the camera throughout the clip supported the emotional beats of the song.

After a morning of blocking and preparation, filming was carefully timed to coincide with a short window where the large native trees surrounding the formal garden cast dappled shade over the set. We ended up filming seven takes and using the last, which had the best performance.

Post-production was surprisingly challenging, with several types of camera tracking and stabilization used based on which produced the best results for each camera movement. Grading was equally complicated, making extensive use of 3D tracked power windows in DaVinci Resolve to correct for changes in the light and blend between different looks throughout the video.
