For this clip, we used a variety of techniques to make the sky blue spots appear. From simple jump cuts for the chorus, to motion control shots so we could have spots appear during a camera move.

The clip is also scattered with more subtle effects, cleaning up issues with uneven paint or hiding crew members in the background.

For the final shot, we wanted it to look like the sky blue had completely replaced the darker colour from the start of the video. This involved selecting and changing the colour in Resolve, although unfortunately this also affected the skin tones. I’d be tempted to dive back into the edit and try to fix this some day…
